Microsoft Partner Awards 2017: Swisscom Sharespace takes first place

The innovative social intranet solution Swisscom Sharespace has been awarded Microsoft’s Partner Award 2017. The prize ceremony took place on 23 May at Microsoft Switzerland’s headquarters in Wallisellen, with 22 nominated partners present. The most successful partner companies of 2017 were honoured across six categories.

After 15 years, the hotly-contested prize is finally ours: Swisscom has received Microsoft’s Partner Award 2017. The award honours the most successful partner companies of 2017 *in six different categories. The ‘Empower Employee’ category had the most nominations – and Swisscom’s Sharespace solution was the winner.

The jury’s reasoning: ‘Swisscom Sharespace offers the latest generation of the modern, social intranet: virtual workspaces are made available using individually expandable building blocks based on Microsoft SharePoint. Swisscom Sharespace can be easily adapted to customer requirements, and promotes efficient communication and innovation. The software provides an attractive workspace where employees can stay informed and actively participate in events. The seamless flow of information between individuals and departments allows for a significant reduction in email load. The jury recognises that Swisscom has invested heavily in Sharespace, achieving numerous impressive customer testimonials. Sharespace also possesses significant market potential.’

Swisscom Sharespace contains a vision for a digital workplace

Product Manager Pedro Brägger, Product Architect Sandro Felder and their team were delighted by the award. ‘It’s great to get recognition of our work from Microsoft,” says Sandro Felder. ‘Many small and medium-sized businesses have significant difficulties with data management and internal communications. Our social intranet software can solve these – but that’s not all. It’s also the basis for an up-to-the-minute digital workplace,’ says Product Manager Pedro Brägger. According to Brägger, who is planning and implementing new features on an ongoing basis with his team of developers, the collaboration with Microsoft works well and the product is being continuously developed.

The development and promotion of digital workspaces based on Microsoft SharePoint has long been a key priority at Swisscom.
